The fun story behind Biscotti Artisanal

As a child I developed a natural talent for cooking and baking, first by cooking for my siblings and then as time passed, for my own family and friends. Today I bake for my grand-children too! There’s nothing that makes me happier than cooking for a big gathering of friends and family. This true passion led me to publish my own blog called Feeding a Crowd!

I have been making biscotti for many, many years now. It started when a very close friend became quite ill and had to stop making her weekly biscotti to bring to our favorite restaurant. It was there that we often enjoyed the best martini and pasta dishes with our Italian host. I offered to make the biscotti while she was recovering and that is when it all started.

I researched the history of biscotti from different regions, the classics and the eccentric. Every week I tried and tested new recipes, sometimes using what was in the pantry, and sometimes going all out on the exotic. My biggest pleasure was seeing how others enjoyed them. Now biscotti-obsessed, some weeks my counters were covered in biscotti experiments.

Life happened, time passed, and it was time to be an entrepreneur and it was rather obvious to everyone and then myself that it was time to bring biscotti to the world… but not just any biscotti, artisanal biscotti!

Our secret recipe

Of Italian origin, biscotti take their name from the fact they are twice-baked, once as a log and the second time after being cut separately. Not quite a dessert or a snack, they are as delicious with coffee, tea or wine. Our biscotti are handmade, using recipes that are typically very traditional and Italian, but now brought to you with a twist of fun and innovation.

The poet Jean de La Fontaine once said, ‘’At work, we know the artist”, we say, “At first bite, we know Biscotti Artisanal”.

Our artisanal method guaranties the use of top grade ingredients, locally sourced as much as possible and at least 75% organic. Classic and re-invented, our biscotti are offered in a variety of flavours, and a few gluten-free (non-certified) flavours too! AND, there is no expiration date!
